A group representing major US tech companies called Wednesday for the global tax deal to provide greater certainty and a lower risk of disputes for the multinationals that will be subject to the new rules.
“The proposed structure appears to yield a new arena for protracted disputes, rather than a system built to avoid disputes,” the Information Technology Industry Council said in a letter.
The group was responding to a July draft of measures in the global tax agreement’s Amount A, which would reallocate a portion of the largest multinationals’ profits to the market countries where they make sales. …
